We're pleased to announce that the first at least nearly stable version of LiteBulletin 1.2 is now running on LiteSoft.

In this version you will face the following features:
  • Reason for editing a post
  • Option to either 'Show edited by' or not.
  • New Reputation System
  • Tabbed Profiles
  • Latest Visitors in profiles
  • Friends in profiles (only if they have added you as well)
  • A Profile Comment System (actually reporting is not supported yet)
  • Users Browsing this thread
  • Better SEO Support
  • New design
  • Gender and age beside the name (not in postbit)
  • Popup menus returned (better controled)
  • New Design + Templates (not 100% done yet)
  • Latest 10 and All Reputations are now in the user cp and not viewable by anyone but you
  • Forum Permissions
  • Online Status of moderators (well we have none but if we'd you'd see Tongue)
  • CSS-Styled Poll bars (showthread only)
  • and much more (can't remember all the specific changes XD)

In the following posts we will show you some new features of LiteBulletin.

This is normally an intern alpha version is not meant to be downloadable by the public. It still contains bugs and is very unfinished yet as there is still much to do

You can test out Litebulletin using this forum: http://community.litesoft.info/testing-fid70.html

Reputations, how?

The reputation system has been replaced by a "Rate my Post" system. So you are able to rep a user by clicking the "+" or the "-" icon next to his post. Anyway you need to enter a comment for this reputation.

Currently you're not able to disable reputations for yourself, but that will be changed in later releases of the alpha. So if you get loads of neg reps send any higher staff a PM and they will look into it.

So the total reputation is of course the sum of all reputations you gained with your posts.
The higher your reputation is, the more power you have. So e.g. say you have +56 reputation points, meaning that you are actually able to increase +2 with your reputations.

Still the system needs to be overworked. We must include flood control and max reputations per day.

Visitors, Friends & Profile Comments

The biggest part yet actually in the Alpha should be the profile, excusing the lack of "tons of new features". It took nearly 3 weeks now to finish it I guess. I cannot even remember.

The base was set up early (displaying the tabs with no content at all Tongue) and slowly every tab gained live. Also the "Friends" tab was built later while the "About Me" and "Contact" tabs were already finsihed.

After all the profile comments took the longest to code on and actually stopped me from doing any further bug fixes yet.

Pascal asked me when we will move to LiteBulletin and I said that the first stable version should be done on Saturday so Pascal agreed and I was under pressure then. That's the reason why "Report" does not work in this Alpha yet.

Also the notification that you received a new comment is AJAX-Controled so you don't need a refresh to see if you have received a new comment.
